Nevada City, CA – It’s officially caroling season.

The Miners Foundry Cultural Center invites people of all ages to join in the power of song with the third annual holiday installment of the popular sing-along known as The Foundry Sings on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the singing begins at 6 p.m. The Miners Foundry offers a no host full bar with snacks available for purchase.
“The 19th century Stone Hall will add magic to the event. This is your chance to sing and recall through music and memories of the season,” said event organizer Pamela Meek. “Being in the 19th century Stone Hall of Miners Foundry will add to the magic of the event.”
Musical Director Rod Baggett is putting together a list of secular favorites including: “Winter Wonderland,” “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” “Feliz Navidad,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “Silver Bells” and “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer. The group will sing sacred carols such as, “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.”
Rod Baggett is a retired Nevada Union High School choral conductor who will lead community singers with support on guitar played by Jonathan Meredith and Tim Yamauchi.
“Rod has been known to come up with some fun renditions for us to try and if someone has a request that night and there is time, we are happy to give it a try! People will likely know all the songs, but just in case, there will be lyrics sheets for everyone,” said Meek.
The Foundry Sings is open to everyone and will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4.
“Bring your bells, friends and family, wear your Santa hats or Rudolf antlers and be ready to sing,” said Meek.
