DOLLAR POINT, Calif. August 30, 2018 – A magnitude 4.1 earthquake at 3:08 pm today rattled mostly the west side of the Sierra near Lake Tahoe and the Foothills.

There are no damage reports but the quake was felt by residents around the lake and as far as the Sacramento area.

The relatively shallow quake, only 0.7 miles deep, was measured by 27 stations and reviewed by a seismologist. It is located on the West Tahoe-Dollar Point fault zone.
