NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. March 6, 2026 – Today was the deadline for candidate filings for the June Primary election.

County Supervisors Lisa Swarthout and Sue Hoek are running for reelection unopposed, Assessor Rolf Kleinhans and Clerk Recorder/Registrar of Voters Armando Salud-Ambriz also have no challengers.

Judges S. Robert Tice-Raskin, Alissa Bjerkhoel and Courtney C. Abril round out the unopposed incumbents.

If an incumbent eligible to run for reelection does not file by the close of the regular filing period, (5:00 pm today) the deadline is extended for that contest.

The filing period for the following local contests has been extended to Wednesday, March 11 at 5:00 pm:

  • County Auditor-Controller, at large – one candidate filed: Sal Alberti
  • County Superintendent of Schools, at large – two candidates filed: John Baggett and Timothy A. Reid
  • County Treasurer-Tax Collector, at large – one candidate filed: Shauneen J. Gracey
  • City of Nevada City, Council Member (two seats), at large – three candidates have filed: Adam Kline, James Khatami and Micayla Sortland.

The Statewide Direct Primary Election takes place on June 2, 2026.
