NEVADA CITY, Calif. August 26, 2016 – Martin David Perry, the 150th Grand Master of Masons in California (2016), has been named as Grand Marshal of the 50th Annual Nevada City Constitution Day Parade.

The selection was announced by Nevada City Constitution Day Committee Chairman Sean Metroka, who is a member of the local Nevada Lodge No. 13, F.&A.M, a co-sponsor of the event.

Perry, who resides in American Canyon, will ride near the front of the Constitution Day Parade, which moves down a flag and bunting draped Broad Street at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11.

A building service contractor, Perry is a longtime member of Silverado Lodge No. 782 and Napa Valley Lodge No. 93.  He has served the Grand Lodge of California for 14 years, serving as District Inspector, Assistant Grand Lecturer for Division 1 and Junior Grand Warden.  He has served on the boards of Grand Lodge Ritual Committee, Masonic Homes of California, California Masonic Foundation and California Masonic Memorial Temple.

The annual Nevada City Constitution Day Parade, a local tradition since 1967, is expected to include 80 or more entries this year, including Special Guest Nevada City’s own Alexander Rossi, winner of the 2016 Indianapolis 500.

The Constitution Day Celebration is sponsored by Nevada Lodge No. 13, F.&A.M. of  Nevada City, the 49er Breakfast Rotary Club of Nevada City, the City of Nevada City, Nevada City Chamber of Commerce and Nevada City Constitution Day Committee.
