GRASS VALLEY, Calif.  Oct. 9, 2017 – McCourtney Road Transfer Station is closed and service is suspended for customers with Monday collections of trash, recycling and/or green waste due to multiple wildfires and evacuations in Nevada County.

Waste Management of Nevada County currently anticipates moving Monday service to Saturday. McCourtney Road Transfer Station will reopen as soon as evacuation orders are lifted and the area is declared safe.

This suspension of service affects roughly 4,000 customers in Penn Valley, Rough Ready and Smartville.

Waste Management will deliver dumpsters to three locations throughout the area where service is suspended for customers to use should their trash carts begin to overflow. Those bins will be delivered when the evacuation orders are lifted and the area is declared safe.

Further suspensions of services could occur this week depending on the status of the fire. Please call our service hotline at (855) 963-2273 or visit nevadacounty.wm.com for more information.
