Sierra College, Alliance for Workforce Development, the Center for Nonprofit Leadership, and the Nevada Joint Union High School District’s Transition Program are partnering on a premiere event for students and the community to connect with local organizations from around Nevada County that are offering job opportunities, internships, career paths, volunteer opportunities, and support resources.

Sierra College pond

The Meet Your Match Fair will be held on Tuesday, April 8 between 3 pm and 6 pm. Over 40 organizations and businesses will come together around the pond at the Nevada County Campus of Sierra College to connect with potential volunteers, job seekers and the whole community.   This event will provide a unique occasion for individuals to explore all types of opportunities to meet their current needs and goals.

With a mix of small businesses, agencies and nonprofits, this event will be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the community including the opportunity to enjoy delicious for-purchase Thai cuisine from local food vendor, Thai Chic.

Participating nonprofit organizations will represent various sectors including environmental protection, food security, youth education and support, and health care, while businesses and agencies represented will include County programs and Cal Fire, to name a few. Additionally, the High School District’s Transition Program, which seeks to assist students with special needs as they transition from high school to adult life, has secured many organizations to support those efforts, but also provide resources to the broader community.
