Spring has sprung in Nevada County and the Miners Foundry is again hosting Tim O’Connor’s Readers Theater event on Sunday, May 18 at 4pm. Director Gaylie Bell-Stewart carefully chose stories with themes of HOPE & HUMOR this time around because “We could use some hope and humor in our lives right about now.”

Readers' Theater

Short stories are read by local actors including Gayle Bell-Stewart, Kimberly Ewing, Jon Blinder, Lindsay Dunckel, and Sandra Rockman who are generously donating their time for this fundraising event for Miners Foundry. The stories are written by Nora Ephron, David Rakoff, James Herriot, Heather Lende, and James Thurber.

Readers Theater came to be during World War II when fully-staged and costumed performances were not always possible. It is minimal theatre in support of literature and reading. A combination of oral interpretation and conventional theatre, it uses two or more readers to communicate the full intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic content of the literature to the audience.

Storytime for grown ups, filled with hope and humor. A fundraiser event for the Miners Foundry.

SUNDAY, MAY 18th at the Miners Foundry.

Doors open at 3:30pm, show at 4pm.
