Nevada City, CA – On August 23, Nevada City Queen fans will have the chance to sing along to note-for-note renditions of classic songs such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You” and “We are the Champions.”

The Miners Foundry Cultural Center is pleased to present Queen Nation — A Tribute to the Music of Queen on Friday, August 23. The doors and bar open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
“Since we first brought a Queen cover band to town, folks have been asking for more. People can’t get enough of the energy and nostalgia that Queen’s music brings. Bringing Queen Nation to town is exciting because Queen’s music connects with people of all ages. It’s a delight for me to watch everyone singing along and enjoying the music together,” said Miners Foundry Executive Director Gretchen Bond.
Queen Nation is the undisputed number one ranked Queen Tribute Act in the U.S. and currently reigns as the all-time performance champions, crowned the kings of the Queen tributes, according to the band’s website. Over the past two decades, Queen Nation has performed over 1,250 shows and attracted 2.5 million viewers worldwide.
“We try to perform the music of Queen humbly, tastefully and respectfully while paying homage to our rock idols without resorting to any corny cliché antics or images. Our primary focus will always be based on consistently delivering the best sonic gut punch of a pure vintage Queen show in an entertaining concert format every time we take the stage,“ said frontman Gregory Finsley, whose voice and captivating stage energy emulate the late great Freddie Mercury.

A concert-trained pianist with an uncanny tone, Finsley skillfully plays live piano during all shows, just as Freddie Mercury did back in the day.
Queen Nation is recognized as the most popular, accurate and fully-costumed re-creation of a vintage Queen concert in the US. Performing in 1970s and 1980s Queen-era costumes, four musicians make up the band to reflect the original Queen lineup.
All of this is presented in a live 90-minute concert experience with classic Queen songs such as “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “My Best Friend,” “Dragon Attack” and more.
“Our community, like all communities really, has a deep love for Queen. Put on ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and people can’t help but join in. You can see how much people love their music,” said Bond.
Queen Nation promises a seamless show without interruptions or cheesy props, focusing on delivering a pure, authentic vintage Queen show. Expect no fake mustaches, interruptions or lulls for costume changes.
Queen Nation was inducted into the California Music Hall Of Fame and voted “Best Live Band” at the City of Los Angeles with their live performance at The Greek Theatre.
Demand for tribute bands like Queen Nation is growing as a form of entertainment for concert houses. Throughout the year, Miners Foundry Cultural Center produces a number of shows featuring tribute bands committed to the greats such as Grateful Dead, Metallica, Allman Brothers Band, Tom Petty, Frank Zappa, Talking Heads and more.
“Tribute bands are definitely popular, and we like to mix them in with original artists during the year. It takes real talent to be a good tribute band, and Queen Nation is one of the best.”
