Free to the public, Musical Mornings is a popular, family-friendly summer series of one-hour morning concerts for listeners of all ages. The atmosphere is casual, with attendees bringing their own lawn chairs or blankets and snacks. Kids are encouraged to wiggle, dance, sing, and play.

The summer series, presented by InConcert Sierra, the Nevada County Library, and the Nevada County Friends of the Library, features local and regional musicians performing music geared toward youth yet enjoyable for all ages.

Opening the series on June 24 is a favorite local ensemble, “Beaucoup Chapeaux,” an acoustic world-fusion quartet known for extraordinary, eclectic repertoire that effortlessly blends Parisian cabaret, Balkan folk, Italian cafe tunes, Celtic airs, and jazz alongside originals that the audience loves to sing and dance to. The group’s musicians, Maggie McKaig, Luke Wilson, Murray Campbell, and Randy McKean are perfect at kicking off the season of magical morning music concerts.

Each Wednesday will bring a different group such as Big Whoop!, The Mountain Road Ceilidh Band, Western Songbirds, and Buffalo Gals. Attendees are introduced to a variety of distinctive sounds and instruments. And this season, there will be a new theme song to keep everyone engaged and wanting to return the next week.

In the event of inclement weather or extreme heat, the concerts will be presented inside the Madelyn Helling Library. Pets are not allowed in the amphitheater or library.
