On Thursday, October 7th, the Nevada County Community Library will present two “My Favorite Bird Poetry Workshops” in collaboration with Nevada County Poet Laureate, Kirsten Casey.  The public is invited to bring their poetic imagination for some nature themed writing that will offer a new perspective.  Casey’s program will be held at Madelyn Helling Library in the outdoor Marion E. Gallaher, M.D. Amphitheater.  The first session is for teens between 4:00-5:00pm and the second session is at 5:30-6:30 for Adults.

Casey’s first book of poetry, “Ex Viv0: Out of the Living Body,” was published by Hip Pocket Press in 2012.  Her upcoming collection of poems explores historical and literacy characters struggling with the use of social media in the modern world.  In 2020, she co-edited Molly Fisk’s collection of poetry “California Fire and Water.”
