NEVADA CITY, Calif. August 2, 2016 – For the second time the Nevada City Police Department will participate in the National Night Out program on August 2, 2016 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. National Night Out is a nationwide event held in cities throughout the country in which thousands of communities join forces in an effort to build stronger neighborhoods, heighten crime and drug awareness, generate support for and participation in anticrime efforts and strengthen the ties with law enforcement.
This year the NCPD will host the event on Broad Street between Pine and Union Streets. Officers will also visit various neighborhood events throughout the city. During the evening we will hand out an assortment of police related items encouraging personal safety, child protection, and relationship building with Law Enforcement. The NCPD Police Officers Association will again sponsor a hotdog booth.
The Broad Street event will include NCPD, Cal Fire, the Nevada City Fire Department, Nevada County Probation and Nevada County Search and Rescue. Vehicles for several departments will be on display and a possible fly over by CHP air operations. Chief Foley will once again be in the dunk tank to help support our K9 Officer Rüdiger.
We are looking forward to a fun event and a chance to network with community members and families. You can learn more about National Night Out at https://natw.org/
We hope to see you there.
