NEVADA CITY, California – The Nevada City Chamber of Commerce is launching a new event dedicated to our local community. Locals Week is a week-long promotion where any Western Nevada County resident can take advantage of great deals and exclusive offers at participating businesses. The promotion runs from May 4-10, 2025.
“Locals are the backbone of our community. We want to make sure our locals know how much we, as the business community, value them,” explained Lynn Skrukrud, Events Manager for the Chamber of Commerce. There are great deals for everyone at over 35 local businesses throughout Western Nevada County, ranging from gifts to dining and real estate to fitness.
“While we are grateful for the contributions of so many enthusiastic visitors to Nevada City, we recognize that the true heartbeat of our community resides with those who make this place home all year round,” shared Wendy Ermshar, owner of Fur Traders and President of the chamber board, “Without their daily support of our unique eateries, shops, service providers, and artisans, the landscape of our town would look and feel much different. This event is a heartfelt gesture of thanks to our beloved locals who support the entrepreneurial dreams of Nevada CIty small business owners.”
Just a few of the exclusive offers residents can take advantage of include 25% off a stay at the National Hotel, 10% off travel gear at J. J. Jackson’s, $2 off select glasses of wine at Nevada City Winery, 10% off a solar or battery system from Inverted Electric, and so much more. Some locations are offering special giveaways including The Fates Fine Jewelry, where any local who comes in during the week will be entered to win a sterling silver Yuba pendant, no purchase necessary.
The week will culminate with the Nevada City Sidewalk Sale on May 10 from 10am-5pm and Long Table Community Awards Night on May 10 at 6pm. The Nevada City Chamber encourages our local community to come visit some of your long-time favorite businesses and to explore new businesses too.
