Nevada City, Calif. — At the City of Nevada City July 14, 2022, City Council meeting the City Council provided direction to implement the City Manager’s recommended process for a Community-Driven Strategic Plan for the City. This plan will illuminate the path forward for the City from both Policy and Strategic perspectives. Critical to the process is the involvement of a broad grouping of stakeholders including:
- Residents
- Businesses / Investors
- Non-Profit Organizations
- Faith-Based Organizations
- Education and Community Based Organizations
- Social Justice and Human Rights Groups
- Visitors to the City
In addition to internal group meetings with employees and appointed officials, the City will be conducting workshops open to all on the various topics applicable to strategic planning including:
- The City’s Mission Statement
- The City’s Vision Statement.
- The City’s Values Statements.
- Community Service Expectations and Views on Existing Service
- Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats to the City
- Critical Issues for the City
- Service Gaps in the City
- Strategic Initiatives for Organizational Improvement
The workshops are scheduled for Wednesday August 3rd and August 17th from 5:30 to 9:00 PM with separate topics at each meeting. Topic and meeting information to help optimize your time will be sent to those that sign-up in advance of the meetings.
Input from all of the stakeholder group meetings will be shared with the City Council at Special City Council meetings held as Strategic Planning Workshops so that the City Council may include information shared from all stakeholders in their decision-making process toward the creation of a published strategic plan.
Surveys and other instruments seeking input will be made available on the City’s website and shared through multiple communications channels beginning July 25, 2022, for those that cannot or choose not to participate in the group workshops.
