The presentation comes during National Parks and Recreation Month, highlighting the important role parks and recreation programs play in building healthy, connected communities. The Rotary Club of Nevada City is proud to support these efforts and partner with the City throughout the year on projects and events that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

“Our partnership with the City reflects Rotary’s commitment to service above self,” said Andrea Mason, President of the Rotary Club of Nevada City. “We’re pleased to help support summer recreation opportunities and to work alongside the City on projects that strengthen our community.”

The Rotary Club of Nevada City collaborates with the City on numerous community initiatives, including Pumpkins Palooza, stretchable plastic recycling efforts, improvements and beautification projects at Penzance Park, and community cleanup activities. Club members also volunteer alongside the Nevada City Police Department during National Night Out, Summer Nights, and Victorian Christmas, and have previously provided a scholarship to support police safety training.

The scholarship presented to Nevada City Parks and Recreation reflects the Club’s ongoing investment in programs that benefit local youth and families while reinforcing its long-standing commitment to community service.
