NEVADA CITY, Calif. Feb. 17, 2018 – Thanks to unseasonably warm temperatures, Nevada City’s Inn Town Campground is kicking off camping season with facilities improvements and a host of ongoing and special events scheduled throughout the spring and summer seasons. In addition, the campground’s popular, fully furnished glamping tents have reopened on weekends, and will resume daily operations beginning in March.
The Inn Town Campground has also added to its camping options; starting this spring the campground will have a 2018 Riverside Retro RV available for campers to rent onsite. For those interested in experiencing the RV lifestyle, but don’t want to tow a trailer, this new family friendly option makes RV camping possible and will start at $150 per night.
“The weather has been incredible to start the year, and we can’t think of any reason not to get the camping season underway,” said Erin Thiem, Inn Town Campground owner. “We’ve made some improvements at the campground including adjusting the glamping tent awnings to provide more shade at the front of the tents, and upgraded the showers. Beyond that, Nevada City has so much to offer, from outdoor activities like hiking and biking, to great restaurants, wine tasting and craft beer, and spring really is an ideal time to come visit before the summer crowds and the temperatures heat up.”
This spring, the Inn Town Campground will host two special events including a Women’s Mountain Bike Skills Clinic with YBONC April 7-8, 2018, and a Glamping Retreat coordinated by The Yoga Dive May 18-20, 2018. The Women’s Mountain Bike Skills Clinic is open to the first 50 women, and includes options for varying ability levels. The Yoga Dive Glamping Retreat combines yoga, glamping and wine tasting, for a fun weekend of camaraderie in Nevada City. Interested participants can learn more about both events at www.inntowncampground.com/events.
Families camping at the Inn Town Campground this spring are invited to participate in scheduled on-site activities including an Easter Egg Hunt on March 31, Earth Day activities on April 21, Cinco de Mayo festivities on May 5, a special Mother’s Day craft on May 12 and Memorial Day weekend crafts on May 26. A Father’s Day craft and cornhole tournament will take place on June 16, and Bicycle Races activities including bike decorating will take place on June 23.
Campers will also enjoy regular, ongoing events at the Inn Town Campground, including urban hikes guided by the Folk Trails Hiking Club the second Thursday of every month from February through November and themed fireside chats led by the Bear Yuba Land Trust the last Thursday of every month from May through September. Weekly outdoor movie nights will also return on Friday and Saturday evenings this summer.
The Inn Town Campground features a variety of camping styles from traditional tent sites, to RV sites and “glamping” tents. Fully furnished “glamping” tents can be reserved daily starting in March complete with real beds, linens, electric blankets, bedside tables, electricity, outdoor seating and peaceful views. Sites with hookups are available year-round for those with their own RV or camper.
To make the experience even more comfortable, The Commons, the campground’s 3,000 square foot heated amenity building offers conveniences including: a camp store, kitchen (complete with modern appliances and cooking accessories), an eat-in area, laundry facilities, TV area, reading nooks and BBQ area. Additional comforts include bathhouses featuring flush toilets, an indoor shower, as well as an enclosed outdoor shower.
For those interested in taking advantage of the current unseasonably warm temperatures, the Inn Town Campground is offering a tent camping special. Book three nights and receive 30 percent off the reservation. Offer valid through Thursday, March 29, 2018.
Leashed dogs are welcome for an additional $5 per night, per pet (max two) in tent and RV sites. Some of the glamping tents are also dog friendly, with an additional $20 per night required.
