June 3, 2017 – Three bridges, located on McCourtney Road at Rock Creek, and Garden Bar Road at Little Wolf Creek near Sanford Road and Rosemary Lane, are scheduled to be replaced or rehabilitated this summer. The bridges have exceeded their useful life and are considered structurally deficient. In addition, the bridges do not meet today’s standards for structural components and load carrying capacity.

The County Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Q&D Construction on May 9, 2017, for a total construction cost of approximately $2.5 million dollars. The three bridge projects are funded through federal Highway Bridge Program grant funding awarded to the County in 2014. Project construction is expected to begin the week of June 5th, 2017 and be completed by November 24th, 2017.

Roads are expected to be open for the majority of the construction project via temporary access with some minor delays. Road closures, if any, would be of short duration, and ample notice will be given to the public to plan for the closure.
