The Nevada County Composers Cooperative is excited to present their 2024 Spring Concert featuring new music from living, and celebrated, Northern Californian Composers.

What’s special about this concert is that all the music is new. It has all been composed since 2020. How exciting to see and hear brand new art, Trabucco Ranch is a fantastic music venue and it’s filled with Bill Trabucco’s hand-built pipe organ. Five of the composers have worked together to create the Nevada City Suite, a group of five short works for organ celebrating this pipe organ. The sound there is live and needs no amplification. “It’s the perfect venue for an acoustic concert” says NCCC’s Executive Director, Mark Vance.
Binns Melander’s Fourth Piano Concerto is featuring pianist, Lynn Schugren and a small string orchestra. Both Hsieh’s Mask and Vance’s Three Boys and an Extraordinary Adventure, feature Sacramento’s TriMusica with Sandra McPherson, clarinet; Susan Lamb Cook, cello and John Cozza, piano
The drive out to the venue winds out Bitney Springs Road about 15-20 minutes from Nevada City or Grass Valley, and you are treated to vineyards and pastures and stunning vistas where everything is green.
What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Nevada County than to attend Nevada County Composers Cooperative’s Spring Concert on Sunday, May 5, 2 pm at Trabucco Ranch. Tickets available at the door and the concert will be followed by a reception.
