March 27, 2018 – Challenger Glenn Jennings and incumbent district attorney Cliff Newell will offer their contrasting visions of the DA’s office on Tuesday April 3 at the next First Tuesday Educational Forum held at the Peace Lutheran Church and sponsored by the Nevada County Democrats. Newell was first elected as Nevada County’s district attorney in 2006 and is seeking his fourth term in that office. Jennings, a Nevada County resident, prosecutes serious and violent felonies in Butte County. The District Attorney oversees the prosecution of criminal cases, supervises crime prevention efforts and works closely with the county sheriff in administering justice.

The forum will be moderated by Fran Cole, a business transactions attorney and partner at the law firm of Diamond, Baker, Mitchell, LLP. She was formerly Chief Counsel at Charles Schwab Investment Management Inc. Each candidate will be allowed to make opening and closing statements and the audience is invited to submit written questions, which will be screened and read by Ms. Cole.

The event begins with a light supper at approximately 5:30 pm. The debate will begin shortly after 6. The Church is located at 828 W. Main St., Grass Valley. There is no charge for admission, although donations are gladly accepted.
