Grass Valley, CA – The Nevada County Fairgrounds is proud to announce the outstanding results of the 2025 Ag Mechanics and Junior Livestock Auction, which together raised an impressive $1,296,498.60 in support of youth exhibitors.
The total includes:
- Ag Mechanics Sale: $166,259.50
- Junior Livestock Auction: $915,210.00
- Bump Ups (Add-ons): $215,029.16
These incredible numbers reflect the strength and generosity of the local community, whose continued support makes it possible to provide opportunities for youth involved in agriculture and vocational education.
“The auctions couldn’t achieve results like this without the generous support of our buyers, sponsors, and the community at large,” said Tom Browning, Nevada County Fairgrounds Board President. “This demonstrates not only a commitment to our local youth, but also a deep appreciation for the hard work, responsibility, and dedication these exhibitors bring to the Fair each year.”
The Fairgrounds also acknowledges the important role bump ups play in the success of the auction. “We recognize that not everyone is in a position to purchase an entire animal or project,” added Andrew Trygg, Chief Executive Officer. “But so many still chose to show their support by contributing a bump up — a meaningful way to acknowledge the effort, time, and dedication these students put into their projects.”
Our Ag Mechanics Auction showcases student-built projects such as trailers, barbecues, furniture, and other metal or wood structures, while the Junior Livestock Auction features animals raised and shown by local 4-H and FFA members. Funds earned go toward college savings, future agricultural projects, and career development.
