August 2, 2016 – It is with great honor and pride that the Nevada County Fire JOA declare Thursday, August 4th, 2016 as Dawson’s Day.

Dawson Deschaine is a 7-year-old Nevada County resident who is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia, we want to celebrate his strength, courage and bravery by making him an honorary firefighter.

On August 4th at 10:00 AM we will hold an honorary badge pinning ceremony, presenting Dawson with his own badge and uniform. Honorary Firefighter Dawson will then spend the day with Nevada County Consolidated, City of Grass Valley Fire and City of Nevada City crews experiencing the life of a firefighter for a day.
