Nevada County Library is pleased to announce the start of the 2022 Summer Learning program. Summer Learning is a countywide event that takes place from June 13th-August 13th. Community members can enjoy fun events and reading challenges across Nevada County throughout the duration of the program.
On Wednesday, June 22 from 4-6 pm, Madelyn Helling Library will host this year’s Summer Learning Kick-Off Party. The kick-off party will feature a special performance from musical act The Buffalo Gals, entertainment by storyteller Izzy Tooinsky, games, and reading log sign-ups.
Library Partners Bear Yuba Land Trust and the Office of Emergency Services will also be at the event to share some of the great resources that they have to offer. OES will be informing our community on fire safety this summer, and Bear Yuba Land Trust will promote the new Nature Backpacks collection!
Parents, children, and teens are all welcome at the event. This event is entirely free and is just one of the many library programs that Nevada County Library would like to invite its patrons to now that the library has reopened!
More highlights from Summer Learning include: Bird expositions with West Coast Falconry, entertainer and storyteller Izzi Tooninsky, Musical Mondays with InConcert Sierra, Watershed Investigations with SYRCL, Wild Things Rescue, and a series of live talks with NorCal Bats.
