Nevada City, CA, April 17, 2019 – The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum’s Summer hours, as well as regular Saturday Railbus service, will begin this Saturday, April 27, 2019. Every Saturday the Railbus will be on track for 6 daily rides of approximately 35 minutes each.
The Railbus will take you through the rail yard and out into the local woods. You’ll get a chance to see the entrance to an old mine shaft, a beautiful meadow, ride past Deer Creek, switchback at the Northern Queen Hotel, see old Indian grinding rocks and much, much more. The Railbus ride is great fun for all ages.
Railbus rides are Docent moderated. Both the Docents and the Railbus Operators are volunteers, as is everyone working at the RR Museum. Besides enjoying a fantastic Railbus ride, you will also have an opportunity to visit the RR Museum. Although the museum’s emphasis is on the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad, you’ll see many different displays including those of other early means of transportation. You’ll be able to pick up a souvenir, a gift, or some unique train related item at the NCNG RR Museum Gift Shop. The NCNG RR Museum has something for everyone!
The Weekend Railbus Schedule has a Railbus leaving the RR Museum every Saturday at 9:40 AM, 10:40 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:50 PM, 1:50 PM and 2:40 PM. The RR Museum is Open 10 AM – 4 PM Friday through Tuesday every week from May 1 until October 1, 2019.
We do recommend reservations! Railbusses fill up quickly! On a side note, their 15,000th rider dis expected to be on the Railbus this summer! Will it be you?
