This is the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services. National Weather Service and PG&E are forecasting increased fire weather Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday due to strong winds and dry vegetation. Wildfire potential is expected to peak on Friday.

Don’t let your guard down after the recent rains, which will dry up quickly. We are still in a burn ban and wildfire season. No burn piles, avoid using equipment that can create sparks, don’t drag chains and properly dispose of cigarettes and matches. Prepare for increased fire weather, high winds and potential power outages across Nevada County.
