Grass Valley and Truckee, Calif. โ€“ Nevada County Public Health is hosting two free Community Baby Shower events at the Grass Valley Library on Sept. 16 and Truckee Regional Park on Sept. 22, offering free resources, information and support to new and expectant parents.

No registration is required. Families are welcome to drop in at either event and take advantage of the resources and activities available.

Event Highlights:

  • Resources and information: Connect with local organizations, including First 5, Sierra Nevada Childrenโ€™s Services, Connecting Point and many more. Learn about WIC, CalFresh, Partnership Health Plan, Healthy Babies and other services available to new and expectant families.
  • Giveaways and raffle: Families can receive free items and enter raffles for additional prizes. Large raffle items include jogging strollers and โ€œBaby Einstein 4-in-1 Kickinโ€™ Tunesโ€ play mat.
  • Story time: Enjoy a special storytime, as well as free board books and early literacy resources from the Nevada County Library.
