Nevada Union Families,
The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priority. This email is to inform you that a student at Nevada Union High School has tested positive for COVID-19. This student was last on the Nevada Union campus on Monday, November 9th.
Public Health has been notified and the student is taking further steps in accordance with guidance from NC Public Health and our district COVID-19 protocols and procedures. The individual and their household have been placed in isolation and are working with their healthcare provider to take additional steps, including notifying any close contacts.
Staff has begun to identify all students and staff who have had close contact exposure. Those who are identified will be notified by telephone before the end of the day today and will be placed in isolation for 14 days, per protocol. Furthermore, areas on campus where this student had contact are being cleaned and sanitized.
We will update you with additional pertinent information as appropriate. Please continue to monitor your student for symptoms and keep them home if they are experiencing any of the symptoms listed on the NJUHSD Symptom Checklist. Additionally, please notify the school nurse if your student has symptoms. We realize that these precautionary measures can be inconvenient, but we further recognize that they aid a great deal in limiting exposures and ultimately limit the need for further student and staff quarantine.
Please contact the school nurse or your healthcare provider if you have questions or concerns related to our COVID-19 safety policies and protocols.
If you have additional questions or concerns surrounding this incident please contact myself, the school nurse, or the school’s administration.
Union Hill
Good morning Bearcats,
This is Andy Parsons, Superintendent of Union Hill School District. I wanted everyone to be aware that we have had our first positive COVID case with one of our students in our 1-5 program on our lower campus. Principal Limov has contacted the particular teacher and has notified the student’s cohort as well. We are following all guidelines as published by the State and Local Health Departments. This is a reminder to please follow all health and safety protocols as we move through the increased rates in our county. Thanks and have a great rest of the day.
