This one-hour course will explore the legal aspects of three common ways that adjoining and shared real property is managed and controlled in California. We will discuss:
1. The legal background and statutory framework which control homeowners’ associations, mobile home parks, and shared road associations;
2. The respective rights and responsibilities of both these associations and individual property owners; and
3. Common problems and misconceptions regarding shared property rights, and practical suggestions on how to avoid conflicts and litigation.
About Steve McFarlane
Steve McFarlane practices law primarily in the areas of small business advising, estate planning, probates and trust administration. He graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law in 2005, and thereafter worked as a civil litigator with the law firm of Bowles & Verna LLP in Walnut Creek, California.
