Auburn – CAL FIRE/Placer County Fire Department is implementing a live fire operation near the Colfax Wastewater Treatment Plant property in Placer County.
Weather conditions permitting, the burn will begin Tuesday February 8th at 10:00am.
This burn will help reduce the fuel load while converting up to six acres of underbrush to native vegetation within the North Fork American River Shaded Fuel Break. The prescribed burn will also offer training to area firefighters.
The burn will be ignited around 10:00 a.m. and be completed by 3:00 p.m. Smoke may be visible in Colfax and surrounding communities Wednesday, February 8th, 2022.
