GRASS VALLEY, Calif. December 3, 2016 – Join Wild Birds Unlimited on Saturday, Dec 3, as they partner with Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release (WR&R) for the third annual wildlife themed shopping and customer appreciation day, “Owl Be Home for Christmas”. Purchasing a $35 membership to WR&R will earn customers $15 worth of “bird bucks”, a gift from Wild Birds Unlimited, to spend on store merchandise that day. “Once again we are excited to partner with Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release and pleased to support their cause. Both organizations have similar missions – to encourage the health and well-being of our native birds and wildlife,” stated Mary Ann Kirk, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited. “We help birds survive our cold winters by offering quality bird seed, high in protein and fat as well many more items of interest to the backyard birder and nature enthusiast. A beautiful winter scene backdrop will enable customers to take photos of the “Owl Ambassadors” with their own cameras or cell phones,” she added.
“This event is very festive and fun, as well as being an important membership drive for WR&R,” stated Kathleen Willis, President. “We are also kicking off a new program to Adopt a Wildlife Ambassador. If you are looking for a Christmas present for the person who has everything, consider purchasing an “Adopt an Ambassador Certificate” that will help pay for the food needed by one of our Wildlife Ambassadors. And if there are people on your Christmas list that are into bird feeding, this is a great way to complete your shopping at Wild Birds Unlimited and support WR&R at the same time. All donations go to caring for injured or orphaned native wildlife,” continued Willis. WR&R’s “Owl Ambassadors” including a Barn Owl, Great Horned Owl and Western Screech-owl will be on hand to greet shoppers as they enter the store or pose for photos.
Wild Birds Unlimited has a vast array of wildlife themed and bird feeding items including bird seed, bird feeders, books, jewelry, adorable children’s puppets, Christmas decorations and ornaments in the shapes of birds and animals, binoculars, field guides, and much more. Don’t miss this great shopping value and fun day! A raffle for a bird feeder will be held and refreshments served.
