Nevada City, Calif. โ€” Nevada County Behavioral Health has selected Pacific Clinics as its new contracted provider for behavioral health crisis services, including the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), which reopens today.

The CSU is a safe, voluntary place for adults ages 18 and older experiencing a mental health crisis to receive short-term support and stabilization services, including crisis and nursing assessments, coping strategies, safety planning, short-term care and referrals to community resources. For the first time, the CSU will also offer peer support partners, giving adults the opportunity to connect with someone who has faced similar challenges and understands what they are going through.

โ€œWe know how critical it is for people experiencing a crisis to have access to compassionate support in a safe, welcoming environment,โ€ said Pacific Clinicsโ€™ Executive Director of Crisis Services Mae Sampani. โ€œWe look forward to working alongside Nevada County and our community partners to support individuals and families when they need it most.โ€

โ€œWe are pleased to welcome Pacific Clinics as Nevada Countyโ€™s new provider of crisis services and to reopen the Crisis Stabilization Unit to our community,โ€ said Director of Behavioral Health and Homelessness for Nevada County Behavioral Health Cari Yardley, PsyD. โ€œThe CSU remains a vital part of our crisis-care continuum, offering timely, accessible support for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. As we prepare to expand this continuum with the upcoming Deer Creek Behavioral Health Centerโ€”designed to support those in acute crisisโ€”we are strengthening our ability to provide compassionate, high-quality care close to home.โ€
