On Thursday, from 1-5 pm, a joint meeting of local electeds for the cities of Nevada City and Grass Valley, the Town of Truckee and the Nevada County Board of Supervisors will be held at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City. The theme of the session is Housing in Nevada County. No action items are on the agenda, and no votes will be taken. The meeting is open to the public.
According to the agenda, public comment and community input will take place from 4:25 to 4:50 pm. To participate in the public comment, you can send your comments to publiccomment@nevadacityca.gov before 8:00 AM on the day of the meeting or do so live at the Foundry.
As the mayor of the hosting agency, Nevada City’s Mayor Adam Kline will welcome participants and provide an overview of the meeting and its objectives.
A look at state housing law and the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) process and projections will be provided by HCD consultants. Nevada County’s Housing Director Tyler Barrington will lead a discussion on the challenges surrounding the state’s RHNA, followed by a deep dive on Workforce housing, presented by Truckee’s Housing Analyst Lynn Baumgartner. Grass Valley’s Amy Kesler-Wolfson will round out the presentations with several local solutions for housing.
