I am deeply saddened to report the passing of Fire Apparatus Engineer Chris Wurster. Chris lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Chris worked his entire 13-year career in the Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit, assigned to different stations and most recently as part of the team at the Grass Valley Air Attack Base. Chris was 41 years old and leaves behind his wife, Krystle, his 4-year-old daughter Lola, and his 6-month-old son, Max.

WHAT: Procession for NEU Fire Apparatus Engineer (FAE) Chris Wurster

WHEN: 9:30 a.m. June 28, 2021

WHERE: Beginning at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville leading to Eureka Road. Eureka Road to Interstate 80 east to Bell Road, to Highway 49 north, to Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City (Nevada County).

The procession to escort the body of FAE Wurster in his honor will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Kaiser Medical Center and travel east on Interstate 80 to Bell Road, Bell Road to Highway 49 north. It will continue from there to the Hooper and Weaver Mortuary just after 9 a.m.
