I would like to invite all those missing family or friends this Thanksgiving to a Thanksgiving Lunch on Tuesday, November 26, at noon. Peace Lutheran Church is hosting this lunch. And yes, most of the usual Thanksgiving trimmings will be served. There will be good food, including vegetarian options, and friendship, while we focus on what we are thankful for.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that we want so much to spend surrounded by family and friends, while giving thanks for all the good things we are grateful for. When we first moved to North America with our family far away, we looked sadly towards our neighborsโ houses where cars were parked on lawns and sidewalks and large gatherings of people were having a good time together – while we were just – us.
I know that many people in our community might not be looking forward to Thanksgiving, because they will be on their own. Maybe because there is no family. Maybe because the kids live too far away. Maybe your โFriendsgivingโ isnโt happening this year. Even for couples this can be a challenging time when, instead of laughter and stories, itโs quiet in the house.
A team at Peace has come together to plan and prepare a Thanksgiving lunch for all who would be otherwise alone, or alone as a couple; for all who need to get out and be with others; for all who need a little extra joy.
While not being held on actual Thanksgiving Day, we promise it will be as festive. Doors will open at 11:30am. The luncheon is free; however, we will gratefully accept donations to cover the cost of the food.
The lunch will be held in our beautiful Fellowship Center located at 828 W. Main Street in Grass Valley.
To reserve your place at the table, please call or email the church office at 530-273-9631 or office@peacelutheranGV.org
I hope to see you there
Happy Thanksgiving
Pastor Christian Schweter of Peace Lutheran Church
