The Nevada County Historical Landmarks Commission invites the public to join us in front of the Nevada Theatre on Sunday, October 9th at 10am to unveil and dedicate a plaque honoring Sally Lewis.

Sally was the preservation pioneer of Nevada City, and helped save the Nevada Theatre from demolition.

She was instrumental in creating the Nevada City Historic District.

She was a founding member and the first Chair of the Nevada County Historical Landmarks Commission.

Speakers will include Jane Primrose, President of the Nevada Theatre Commission, Paul Emery and Charlie Jakobs, friends and colleagues of Sally.

The Nevada Theatre is featured in the Commission’s interactive map and its book Exploring Nevada County, a guide to all the County’s historical landmarks. The book is available in electronic format for any smartphone or tablet from Apple or Amazon.
