October 23, 2018 – Yuba River Ranger District is planning to begin active ignitions in our 400-acre Plum Unit Underburn on Tuesday (10/23). The unit is located along Henness Pass Road between the community of Alleghany and Forest City.
Active ignitions will last 3-4 days or until we lose our burn window. The unit is broken up into smaller blocks, 100 +/- each, and we will be monitoring fire behavior and smoke dispersion closely before we continue to progress from block to block.
Fire apparatus and personnel will be on-site and smoke may be visible from Highway 49. Please drive with extra caution when traveling through this area.
