GRASS VALLEY, Calif. January 26, 2017 – Engines from Nevada County Consolidated, Grass Valley and Nevada City Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on Hazel in Grass Valley at 3:40 am.

Battalion 3 reported smoke showing from the exterior of the structure with a working fire in the attic. All occupants had exited the structure prior to fire department’s arrival and crews made a quick knock down of the fire.

The fire was contained at approximately 4:10 am and confined to a wall and small part of the attic.

B-3, E-1, E-84, E-5464 and Truck 2 were assisted by CAL FIRE engines 2360 and 2392. All units were released at 5:30 am.

The fire is currently under investigation for cause determination.
