June 17, 2017 – The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 9 PM Sunday.
* WIND North wind gusts between 20 and 25 mph for the valley. North wind gusts between 25 and 30 for higher terrain.
* HUMIDITY Poor overnight recoveries will be as low as 30 to 40 percent. Sunday afternoon minimum humidities will drop to as low as 10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
