Ricky Satomi

Satomi has previously served as an area forest advisor for UCCE working on forestry and youth education issues throughout Northern California. He completed his Master of Forestry degree from UC Berkeley in 2016 looking at cost efficiency of forest fuel mastication treatments. Prior to that, he was a field forester working on various inventory and timber management programs throughout California.

Satomi is currently getting acquainted with local forest landowners and land managers to identify major issues of concern. In the upcoming year, he hopes to be involved in research and outreach to offer appropriately themed workshops for forest and landowners professionals around general topic areas of Novel Forest Technologies, Workforce Development, Alternative Silvicultural Practices, and Reforestation Best Practices.
