The Nevada County Community Development Agency (CDA), Nevada County Office of Emergency Services (OES), Nevada County Contractors’ Association (NCCA), teamed up with several local design professionals to provide preapproved residential master plans for property owners affected by the River Fire.
“We are proud to work with the CDA and OES to bring the community this free online resource intended to not only help reduce the cost of rebuilding but also reduce the time to get a permit. Our goal is to help those looking to rebuild after the devastating River Fire get back into their homes as quickly and smoothly as possible.” Bre Deschaine, Executive Director, Nevada County Contractors’ Association.
These residential master plans are designed to help Nevada County property owners affected by the River Fire start rebuilding as soon as possible. These reduced-cost residential plans and resources will expedite the permitting and construction processes. To make things easier, all the plans are preapproved by the Building Department and are construction-ready with only minor site-specific information needed such as a site plan for the specific property. “Choosing one of these master plans will save thousands of dollars in design, engineering, architecture, and plan review costs. We are proud to have come together as a group to support the community and the River Fire rebuilding efforts,” Craig Griesbach, Building Department Director.
A residential floor plan library is available online for property owners to view available floor plans and building elevations. Once residents are ready to get started, the online platform makes it is easy to connect with the Design Professional who drafted and owns the plans. This professional will work with River Fire survivors to prepare the plans for each unique property, including completing and submitting site plans.
Below outlines the process:
- Step 1 – Select a design
- Step 2 – Read and agree to terms and conditions
- Step 3 – Fill out contact info and select design
- Step 4 – NCCA will place property owners in contact with the Design Professional
- Step 5 – Design Professional will work with each property owner to create a site plan and plan submittal set
- Step 6 – Design Professional will submit plans to the County for approval and permit issuance
