Fifty years ago the doors were chained shut and the windows boarded up. Only our tour guide knows why. This upcoming Halloween weekend, Nevada County will have a new unique immersive spooktacular experience added to the lineup of fun and creepy things to do. HorrorFest 2022 happens over three days and combines a haunted studio experience, with art and films.

Produced by local community hub Nevada County Media, the immersive art/film/haunted studio experience runs Friday October 28, Saturday October 29, and Sunday October 30. Friday and Saturday have early and late shows scheduled both days, at 5:30pm and 8:00pm. Sunday’s final HorrorFest show will be at 5:30pm.

Attendees to this year’s HorrorFest will frightfully wander through the ‘Haunted Studios’ of Nevada County Media’s new cavernous multi-media facility, before entering into the final ‘Haunted Viewing Chamber,’ where a variety of short films will make your skin crawl and hair stand on end. A ‘Dark & Twisted’ multimedia art showing is also a part of the walk-through experience, with local artists featured throughout the film and art pieces.

So come dressed to kill and prepped for fright for this unique Nevada County experience. Note that each of the five scheduled HorrorFest experiences will feature a slightly different selection of films. Live actors will certainly get your heart racing. All shows are geared towards kids 16 and above. Event producers are asking that parents please do not bring children under the age of 16.

Nevada County Media Executive Director Ramona Howard said, “The only thing to be frightened of this Halloween is possibly missing this year’s local HorrorFest experience. Save $5 by buying your tickets early, and please arrive 15 mins before show times, whether you’re buying tickets early or at the door.”

HorrorFest is at the Nevada County Media studio facilities located at 355 Crown Point Circle, Suite D, in the back of the building behind Analog Devices in Grass Valley. Advance tickets are $20, tickets are cash only at the door for $25.
