NORTH SAN JUAN, Calif. September 20, 2019 – On September 19, 2019, deputies from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Grass Valley Police Officers and County Code Compliance Officers served a search warrant at an address in the 10000 block of San Francisco Street in North San Juan.

At the property, deputies located 36 marijuana plants under cultivation, numerous land use violations, a stolen vehicle, methamphetamine, heroin, and remnants of a butane honey oil (BHO) lab.

During the service of the search warrant, deputies arrested: Joseph Jerome Woodruff (35) from Grass Valley for a felony warrant of arrest, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics, and possession of a stolen vehicle; James Robert Terry (32) from Nevada City for two outstanding warrants of arrest; and Steven Rockwell Howell (56) from North San Juan for manufacturing a controlled substance, committing a felony while armed, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.

Deputies seized the illegally cultivated cannabis as well as a shotgun and two handguns – the stolen vehicle (a trailer) was towed and will be returned to the owner.
