November 29, 2016 – You can help United Way of Nevada County keep the community warm from their heads to their toes. Donate new women’s, men’s and children’s socks, gloves and warm hats now through December 9th. Everything collected will stay in our community. United Way’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.

Who are those in need? The sad truth is that a great majority of those in need are families with children who are just struggling to get by. According to the latest United Way of California survey that looked at the real cost measures in counties all over California; Nevada County has over 4500 households that are struggling to make ends meet. These families are making tough decisions between paying their rent and purchasing food or health care. This collection drive will help those households and individuals stay warm during the upcoming winter months.
