Music in the Mountains (MIM) announces the first annual Sierra Cask Ale Festival taking place in Grass Valley on Saturday, May 14th 2022. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 to great enthusiasm and are selling quickly.

For 30 years, MIM produced the longest continuously running BrewFest on the West Coast. Using the experience gained in running the Sierra BrewFest, MIM is reimagining the event especially for beer lovers and connoisseurs.

“An opportunity to try Cask Ale is a unique experience,” says local community member and beer-lover Gary Wright. “This new iteration of Sierra Brewfest is a wonderful opportunity for this community and will be a great new chapter for the long and beloved history of Sierra Brewfest.”

Attendees will savor the best cask beers that Northern California and surrounding partners have to offer while enjoying paired tapas and live music in an intimate, climate-controlled setting.  Not just an average beer tasting experience, but an upgrade to the much beloved Sierra BrewFest.

Brewfest 2019

Changing Sierra Brewfest was a difficult decision for Music in the Mountains. For thirty years, the event was successful and fun but rising costs of the traditional event, as well as the growing risk of the late-summer/fall fire season inspired the classical music organization to look for another option that long-time BrewFest fans would love.

“When you purchase a ticket to the Sierra Cask Ale Fest, you will be purchasing an experience the likes of which you currently cannot find anywhere else in Northern California,” notes MIM Executive Director Jenny-Darlington-Person. “The closest similar event is 500 miles from us.”

MIM is excited to offer this experience to both the long-time brewing partners who have supported music and music education with their craft and to invite the faithful Brewfest community to indulge in the evolution of craft beer by experiencing the fine and original cask ales that our brewing community has worked so hard to bring to life.

Event proceeds benefit Music in the Mountains, a nonprofit organization that marries world-class musical performances with a deep commitment to music education. Tickets for the Sierra Cask Ale Festival are available in advance for $100 until May 1st. Tickets for non-tasters are $30. This event is a 21+ event. Tickets available at http://www.musicinthemountains.org or call the MIM box office at 530-265-6124.

MIM is committed to producing a healthy and safe event and will follow any necessary or required COVID measures that are in effect on the date of the event. See MIM’s website for the current policy, subject to change before the event date of May 14, 2022.
