August 16, 2018 – Sierra Harvest is thrilled to be continuing the legacy of the Gold Country Gleaners and building on their exceptional efforts since 2011. More than 100 volunteers have gleaned (the act of collecting leftover produce that would get wasted) thousands of pounds of produce from more than 75 backyards and farms in these past seven years. Sierra Harvest will now be managing this volunteer program expanding to more areas and more sites to bring healthy produce to the more than 8,000 clients that Interfaith Food Ministry serves in Nevada County.
