NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. June 17, 2020 – Up until the end of May, Nevada County appeared to be mostly spared from new infections. The east side of the county had 6 new cases on June 2, and a total 41 cases as of yesterday. Western Nevada County had 12 cases only until June 14, 2020. Tonight, 10 new cases have been reported, 5 on each side of Nevada County.

The new cases are all community transmitted, meaning person to person transmissions within the area. Private gatherings, where different households interacted, account for the majority of today’s new cases.

The new active cases have been placed in quarantine and contact tracing has begun for all patients.

As evidenced from the graph above, two minors are among the 10 new cases.
