Foresthill, Calif. March 29, 2018 – The U.S. Forest Service has issued a Road Closure Order restricting all public access to National Forest System Road 96-6 from its intersection with Forest Road 96 (Mosquito Ridge Road) proceeding south to its intersection with Forest Road 96-6-6. Please see the attached Forest Order 17-18-01 and corresponding map for specific information.

The Tahoe National Forest has issued this Road Closure Order to restrict the public from sections of National Forest Road 96-6 which may have hazardous substances lying below the road bed. Until such time that the existence or non-existence of these hazardous substances can be confirmed, Forest Road 96-6 will remain closed.

This Order is effective from March 27, 2018 through May 1, 2018. A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
