Foresthill, Calif. August 9, 2019 –  The U.S. Forest Service, American River Ranger District, is seeking volunteer campground and boat ramp hosts for the remainder of the summer and fall 2019 recreation season.

Campground Host duties would include the following:

  • Welcoming visitors and providing appropriate Forest information.
  • Informing visitors of Forest regulations and campground courtesy rules.
  • Encouraging fee compliance, tracking daily arrivals, and posting incoming reservations.
  • Performing light landscape and bathroom maintenance.
  • Reporting emergencies and providing District Recreation staff with pertinent information
  • Setting a positive camping example for other forest visitors by keeping a clean, presentable and by welcoming campsite and encouraging common courtesy throughout the campground.

Boat Ramp Host duties will include the following:

  • Welcoming visitors and providing appropriate Forest information
  • Informing visitors of Forest regulations and day use area courtesy rules
  • Encouraging fee compliance and courtesy rule adherence
  • Performing light landscape maintenance.
  • Reporting emergencies and providing District Recreation staff with pertinent information
  • Setting a positive example for other forest visitors, encouraging common courtesy in the day use area and presenting a friendly face to our visitors.
