June 28, 2018 – Connecting Point is hosting two free upcoming classes to provide Nevada County residents with practical tools and support to take charge of their long-term health.

Freedom from Smoking, an 8-class series beginning July 11th, is a proven way to quit smoking-and stay quit-even if you’ve tried before and went back to smoking. Over the course of eight classes,you’ll set a quit date, build a quit plan, and work through your new smoke-free life with the support of your classmates. Participants will receive a $50 gift card upon completion of the full series.

Freedom from Smoking classes are July 11,18, 25 & August 1, 3, 8, 15, 22 from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Connecting Point office at 208 Sutton Way in Grass Valley.

Living Well with a Chronic Condition is geared toward folks living with health conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, depression, asthma, and emphysema. Over this 6-week course, participants will share experiences, make action plans, and problem-solve alongside others with chronic conditions. This innovative and interactive workshop will help you improve your quality of life and lower your health care costs. You’ll learn techniques for dealing with frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation; build your strength and endurance; and learn how to effectively communicate with family, friends, and health professionals.

Living Well with a Chronic Condition classes are on Thursdays, July 12-August 16 from 2:00-4:30 pm at the Connecting Point office at 208 Sutton Way in Grass Valley.
