NEVADA CITY, Calif. January 7, 2019 – The Bridge 105.7 FM — Nevada County’s newest radio signal — will broadcast the inauguration ceremony and the inaugural address of new Governor Gavin Newsom today (Monday) live from the State Capitol from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The station is part of a statewide network carrying the transition from Gov. Jerry Brown to Newsom, with hosts Beth Ruyak of Capital Public Radio’s “Insight” and Marisa Lagos of KQED’s “The California Report”.

Other public radio reporters will be on the scene to gather reaction to Newsom’s address and to give perspectives on the transition from the youngest and oldest California governor ever to the 51-year-old Newsom, formerly Lieutenant Governor and Mayor of San Francisco.

“This is a vital use of our new second signal,” says KVMR Program Director Steve Baker. “We want to be able to bring special news events on one channel, and give other listeners their usual programming on KVMR. Choice is better.”
