Directed by Sasha Waters, the film traces Oliver’s life from a lonely childhood to literary fame and explores how her devotion to nature, close attention, and the search for love shaped both her life and her writing. A celebrated poet and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Oliver found inspiration during decades spent walking the ponds and forests of Cape Cod.

The documentary draws on interviews with Oliver’s close friends, including John Waters, along with never before seen photographs, notebooks, and correspondence from her archive. Her poems are read in the film by Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Buscemi, Stephen Colbert, Lucy Dacus, Oprah Winfrey, and others.
