GRASS VALLEY, Calif. June 19th, 2019 – In the early morning hours of June 19th, 2019, deputies from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the emergency department at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for a report of a 31-year-old male who had been brought in with a reported gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim said multiple people assaulted him the day prior at a residence located in the 18000 block of Mustang Valley Place. The victim alleged suspects had shot him, beat him with chains, beat him with a golf club, and ran him over with an All-Terrain Vehicle. The victim was ultimately transported to Mercy San Juan for medical treatment.
Detectives from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office assumed the investigation and served a search warrant on the suspect property on Mustang Valley Place this morning. During the execution of the warrant multiple subjects were contacted and interviewed regarding this investigation. All of the weapons described by the victim were located on the property. Three subjects on the property were arrested and booked into the Nevada County Jail in Nevada City for 245(a)(1) PC (assault with a deadly weapon) and 243(d)PC (assault with great bodily injury). The motive for the attack is believed to be the victim’s refusal to leave the property.
Arrested were: Jerry Del Ray (67), Aaron Pillow (32), and Lindsey Papola (29) – all from Grass Valley.
